Advanced spinning technologies have been developed as a result of the textile industry's ongoing evolution. These technologies are intended to increase productivity, lower energy consumption, and improve yarn quality. With its fast production speed and distinctive yarn properties, vortex spinning technology has stood out among these developments as a major breakthrough. The vortex spinning mechanism, its historical evolution, and its performance in comparison to more traditional spinning techniques like ring and rotor spinning are all covered in detail in this article. The structure, characteristics, and benefits vortex yarns provide for fabric performance and downstream processing are all covered in detail in the paper. For both knitted and woven textile applications, vortex yarn has emerged as a potential option due to notable advancements in dimensional stability, pilling resistance, drying efficiency, and fabric aesthetics. Nonetheless, there is still a dearth of scholarly study on machine parameter optimization and how it affects yarn quality, suggesting possible directions for further investigation.
